GILDERSOME'S journey to play Wakefield City A proved worthwhile as they came up with a second maximum victory of the new season in CYL Division Two.
Wakefield City, batting first, never got going and were all out for 122 with Max Elliott claiming 3-24, Shaun Horan 2-12 and Steve Wales claiming two victims for two runs in just one eventful over. The other three wickets were shared between Hampshaw, McCormick and Thompson.
Gildersome replied with a sound batting display led by Sohail Ibrahim who scored 49. Promising young player Wales followed up his bowling success with a knock of 35 not out while Jamie Thompson hit nine not out as the Street Lane outfit reached their target with seven wickets to spare.
The win lifted Gildersome up to second in the table, two points behind early pacesetters Birstall A with Methley A two points back in third.
A fine bowling display from Martin Morley proved in vain as GILDERSOME A lost by 99 runs to Moorlands A in Division Two.
Morley claimed 4-33 from 10 overs to help restrict Moorlands to 174-9 while Hanif Mansoor took 2-32 and there was one wicket each for Bhadru Patel, Gareth Ream and Ash Wynn.
But Gildersome were soon 8-3 in their reply and were all out for only 75 with Andrew Render taking 6-19. Oliver Jeffries (25) and Mansoor (21) top scored.
