AN inspired team selection by manager Cooper saw Glen Juniors demolish local rivals Churwell 16-0 in the first game on Sunday.
Straight from the kick-off Glen were on the attack with Cooper forcing a great save from the keeper. At the other end Roberts looked comfortable in goal and the defence was well marshalled by Wilkinson and Fairclough.

The first goal went in after
great work from Kane, Bentley and Seddon who put the ball in with great precision. The floodgates then opened with Seddon adding a further two, Kane also adding a couple more and Cooper scoring.

In the second half Churwell kept battling, but they were no match for Glen. Great wing play from Bentley resulted in further goals for Seddon, Guy and Fairclough. By now Glen were rampant and Bentley hit a quickfire hat-trick. MoM was Callum Roberts.

A much closer game in the second match saw Glen edge a six-goal thriller.

Both teams created chances early on, but it was the hosts who went ahead when Ditchfield forced the ball home from close range. Webb stood firm in goals and Matthews then made it two after being set up by Holmes. With Tinker controlling the midfield it was no surprise when he made it three with a great shot.

Churwell pulled one back with a fine move started off by centre half Ashurst and the teams then shared another two goals with Humphreys converting a great cross from Link for Glen. MoM was Charlie Matthews.

Glen started brightly, but came up against a goalkeeper in form and were only able to score once in the first half through Kieron Underdown.

The second half saw Glen play clever football with Euan Shaylor in the centre stringing passes out and it was his through ball to George Fox that opened the floodgates. Underdown then latched on to a loose ball, a dummy sent the keeper the wrong way and he played in Fox to score.

The roles reversed next as Fox played in Underdown. Aaron Clegg then received a long ball from Jack Kelly and laid off for Aidan Worrell to net before Fox completed his hat-trick. Jack Aston, in goal, had to make his only save of the day and his quick thinking rolled the ball out to Charlie Rooney who play the ball on a plate for Underdown to seal his hat-trick. MoM was Euan Shaylor.

The scoring was soon opened by Braydon Beasley with a powerful long shot.

Good team work with Beasley and Sammy Robinson saw Robinson rewarded with another good Glen goal while Luke Webster and Harrison Clark worked hard in midfield.

The second half started well when Max Walton, Beasley and Louis Boyes combined to set up Robinson to fire home his second. Boyes was then denied by the woodwork, but Beasley snapped up the rebound.
Keeper Adam Nicholson was called into action and stood tall before Luke Hembrow's ball landed neatly for Robinson to complete his hat-trick. Boyes' determination was finally rewarded with a goal. MoM was Luke Webster.

Glen took an early advantage when awarded a penalty and although Alex Mitchell's shot was saved he netted on the rebound.
Callum Lodge was immense in midfield and his strengths allowed Lewis Taylor and Kyron Scott to work the wings well. Calverley put some pressure on, but Cameron Levitt and Regan Squires held them at arms length. It was a strong tackle by Squires that sent Taylor thundering down the left to score a good individual goal. MoM was Lewis Taylor.
