Murrell signs on to stay a Rover

FORMER Drighlington ARL junior Scott Murrell has signed a new three-year contract extension which will keep him at Hull KR until the end of the 2012 season.
The 22-year-old stand-off or loose forward was already contracted to the end of next season, but impressed his coach with his displays in Super League in the first half of this season after previously being a key member of Rovers' promotion-winning squad.
Murrell, also formerly of the Leeds Rhinos Academy, has not played since May because of a shoulder injury, but his seen as a key figure in the team's future now they have been given the green light to stay in the top flight.
He said: "It's been frustrating having to watch week after week from the sidelines, I can't wait to get back to playing.
"It's great to know that I will be part of a club that has secured a three-year Super League licence."
Rovers coach Justin Morgan added: "Scott is a good player to build a team around.
"It's excellent news that he has agreed to stay with us for a further three years and shows that he is a player that is settled and is ready to commit to the club."
