DESPITE a five-wicket haul by Glen Thompson, HUNSLET NELSON could not halt the charge of Division One leaders Altofts.
Thompson bowled superbly to take 5-27 from 15 overs and was backed up by Sohail Raz (2-22), Derrick Hammill (2-33) and Danny Marshall (1-25) as Altofts were all out for 153.

But Nelson lost their first three wickets for 17. Kashid Rashid (19), Raz (27) and Joe Bellwood (12) set about recovering the position, but when they were out the rest of the innings fell away to leave Nelson all out for 85.

Batting problems also beset HUNSLET NELSON A as they lost a low scoring Division Four contest at home to East Leeds A.

A good effort in the field had seen East Leeds dismissed for 115 with Andy Brown taking 4-13, Mark Loughlan 3-22, Scott Nicholson 2-24 and Howard Thompson 1-32.

But Hunslet slid to 26-5 in reply and were eventually all out for 85 with Brown (30) and Dave Mawn (18) top scoring.
