TOP Premiership referee Alan Wiley has given his support to a new six-a-side football league in Leeds, taking place at the John Charles Centre.
Mr Wiley commented: "I am pleased to be supporting this new venture in Leeds and also very pleased that organisers Leisure Leagues have such a strong history of supporting national charities including The Dogs Trust and Cancer Research."

The new league will provide an ideal opportunity for teams and players to train away from other competitions, or simply for friends and workmates to get together for a regular game of six-a-side football.

Organisers Leisure Leagues' executive director Stephanie Bullock commented: "We are delighted to be expanding our operation to Leeds and are confident we will have a number of divisions with teams of all standards playing competitive football each week."

Ms Bullock also confirmed that every new team that registers will receive a free kit when they play their first match and will be put into a division matching their own abilities.

She added: "Periodically, we also run national competitions and the top teams from every town are invited to take part and pit their wits against top small-sided teams from other towns. Occasionally, we will also invite some teams to play our national six-a-side team, who are unbeaten in almost 10 years of competitive football."

Everything is provided by Leisure Leagues and the winning team as well as the runners-up, receive engraved lead crystal trophies for every player as well as a magnum of champagne for the champions at the end of the season.

"We have been running successful leagues across the UK for many years and are confident our new league in Leeds will also become a roaring success", stated Ms Bullock.

"We expect this league to fill rather quickly, so I urge anyone interested to get in touch with us as soon as they can."

Any teams who are interested in joining the league or require more information can call Leisure Leagues on 0845 230 2340 or visit www.leisureleagues.net
