AFTER a disappointment in the FIA GT Spa 24 hour race Morley racing driver Tim Sugden is set for more international action in the USA this month.
Tim will team up with Johannes van Overbeek in the Grand Am Supercar 250 Labor Day race on August 31. They will be competing for J Lowe Racing in an event that takes place at New Jersey Motorsport Park.
In his previous race at Belgium's Spa track, Sugden had to retire his Porsche 997 RSR just four hours from the end when he suffered a drive train failure when in sixth place.
The team had earlier had to take a 15-minute pit stop after the Porsche was crashed into the tyre wall at the Belgian track, when doing 100mph. The accident happened at 11.20pm on the Saturday, but the car then ran quite quickly for another 10 hours before being forced to retire.
In tricky conditions there were many retirements before the GT2 class was won by a Ferrari F430 with the factory-Porsche 997 second and the factory Ferrari third.
