BUTTERSHAW St Pauls sprang the surprise of the Wheatley Cup quarter-finals last Sunday as they hammered hosts Birstall by 10 wickets.
Central Yorkshire League Division One side Birstall were bowled out for 193 before Division Three leaders Buttershaw cruised to 197-0 in 31 overs.
James Tolson made 23 and Adam Holroyd 24 for Birstall while Malcolm Ellis hit a defiant 69 not out
but little support saw Birstall all out in their 38th over as Mark Wilson claimed a useful 3-42.
Wilson played a key role with the bat as he hit 69 not out while Andrew Dobson was unbeaten on 92 as Buttershaw eased home.
Buttershaw will now bid to claim a second Division One scalp with a home semi-final against Methley, who beat New Farnley.
East Ardsley's hopes of a last four spot were also shattered as they lost by 154 runs at home to Wakefield Thornes.
Division Two side Thornes proved too strong for Third Division high fliers Ardsley as they set a fine platform with 238-5.
Dean Killey fired 69, Adrian Thompson 75 and Umar Mirza 50 while Ardsley's Julian Smith took 2-42, Danny Walker 1-40 and Michael Pearson 1-40.
Opener Rob Hoban led Ardsley's reply with 18 as they fell to 86 all out with Matt Varley (3-10), Brad Green (2-20) and Rob Stephenson (3-32) doing most of the damage.
Thornes will now visit Ossett in the last four after they gained a five-wicket home win over Batley.
