United plan to turn it around

STAND by for more twists and turns in the League One play-off semi-final between Leeds United and Carlisle.
Although Carlisle hold the advantage after their 2-1 victory in the first leg at Elland Road on Monday night, neither manager thinks the game is anywhere near decided just yet - and Dougie Freedman's goal in the sixth minute of injury time could yet prove crucial.
Carlisle boss John Ward reckons there will be goals flying in again on Thursday at Brunton Park after the teams have served up 12 between them in their three meetings this season.
He said: "We've still got a big job to do. I'm really pleased and delighted with the way the first game's gone. You don't want to concede a goal, but you come to Elland Road and that's always a possibility with the way they play, but for us to score twice was great.
"But they're two very good teams and by no means do I think this is finished, there's a cracking game ahead on Thursday."
Leeds boss Gary McAllister reckoned his side's play in the final third was poor in Monday's first leg, but he also felt they would have had a lead going into the return had it not been for the heroics of Carlisle goalkeeper Kieran Westwood.
He said: "It was an exciting game and their goalie had a great match.
"But I think the goal has got to give us a psychological advantage. They would have been happy to take us back there with a two-goal lead, but they won't know whether to protect their lead now or go out and win.
"We know what we need to do - go out and score goals. The tie lasts 180 minutes and I have no doubt it will go down to the last minute at Carlisle.
"We would have been disappointed with 2-0, but it wouldn't have been a case of surrendering. At 2-0 down I felt we were still in the tie, but just getting that goal makes it different.
"It was a real open game. It was box-to-box and there will be some tired legs come the last 10-15 minutes at Carlisle.
"It's game on and I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be exciting up there. It just puts a different perspective on it now, scoring so late on."
McAllister has a few selection dilemmas ahead of tomorrow's return leg, particularly with top scorer Jermaine Beckford who was clearly not fully fit for Monday's match and had to be taken off before the hour mark.
The striker still carried a threat in the first half, however, and was only denied a goal on his comeback by two stunning saves from Westwood. Much will now depend on whether he suffers a reaction from his first game in a month as to whether he travels to Brunton Park, but as he is such a key figure he will start if at all possible.
The Leeds manager also has to decide if Bradley Johnson is to continue in his role at left back.
