Morley Town FC first team had to settle for a point following an eight-goal thriller with Yorkshire Amateur Championship rivals Stanningley OB.

After trailing 2-0, Town fought back to lead 3-2 at the break, only to see the visitors turn things around to go 4-3 up.

However, Town levelled to earn a point. Aidan Philip, Danny Holland and Chris Pearson (2) netted for Town who visit St Nicholas on Saturday (meet 12.30pm, kick-off 2pm).

Town’s reserves slumped to an 8-2 home loss to Huddersfield YMCA in Division Two.

Martin Ross hit both for Morley, who travel to Farsley Celtic Juniors on Saturday (meet 12.30pm, kick-off 2pm).

Another team hitting eight were Morley thirds, who thumped hosts Leeds City OB 8-1 in Division Six thanks to Jason Helm (4), Richard Brown (2), Akilu Giwa and Michael Emsley.

The third team visit Shire Academics on Saturday (meet 12.30pm, kick-off 2pm).
