Eight youngsters from Morley RFC have been selected for the Central Yorkshire U13s squad after impressing at trials.
The trials at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS), in Wakefield, attracted more than 90 junior players and competition for places on the Central Yorkshire squad was fierce.
However, the Morley youngsters made a big impression on selectors and were picked for the 35-strong squad that will take on opposition from four other districts over the 2013 season.
Morley Academy students Elliot Metcalfe, Zak Earnshaw and Matthew Stringer were picked, as were Joe Thresh (Woodkirk Academy), Bailey Smith, Tom Markland (Bruntcliffe High School) and Noah Hawkins (St John Fisher Catholic High School).
