Featherstone Rovers survived an opening night scare to beat plucky Hunslet Hawks 28-14 at Wakefield’s Rapid Solicitor’s Stadium on Monday.

Newly-promoted Hunslet threatened a major upset when they led 8-6 at half-time and were 14-12 ahead in the second-half but Rovers got their act together in the last 20 minutes.
