Over 1,000 people attended across each of the three days to enjoy the wide range of ales and ciders available at this year’s Morley Beer Festival.
A brilliant family atmosphere was created at Morley Cricket Club’s Scatcherd Lane ground over the bank holiday weekend, which is now a major annual event for the town. Local businesses and people supported the event through sponsorship, donations and generosity and provided the platform for the event to be successful.
The club would like to thank Partners Brewery who supplied all the ales and ciders, the strong team of volunteers who worked tirelessly during the weekend and a special thank you goes to Simon Barraclough, Jacquie Barraclough, Neil Robson, Teresa Bickerdyke, Luke Kirk, Nina Barmby, Derek Horsley and David Nebard who all worked tirelessly across the three days.
Tingley Brass Band played on Friday and other local bands and musicians played throughout the weekend to provide entertainment for the 1,000 strong crowd.
As the club reflects on another successful event it now gears up for the forth coming cricket season, which starts this Saturday .with a home 1st XI friendly fixture against Steeton CC.
The club will now begin to make arrangements for their 2015 Morley music festival Wicketfest, which is another big event and will take place on the August bank holiday.
