If you’ve taken the brave step of giving up the booze for Lent, then Morley Cricket Club’s beer festival over the Easter weekend may offer you a just reward for your efforts.
The festival, run in co-operation with Partners Brewery in Dewsbury, is back for a third successive year and there promises to be something for everyone over the three-day event.
The family-friendly festival will be held at the Scatcherd Lane cricket club from Friday April 3 to Sunday April 5.
A total of 32 real ales and fruity ciders will be available to sample from 1pm on Good Friday, with lots of food being served, funfair rides for the children to enjoy and live music filling the air, all forming the main attractions.
The entertainment continues throughout Saturday before finishing at 5pm on Easter Sunday.
A weekend pass for the weekend’s full programme of events, which includes entry, a commemmorative glass and festival programme, is available for £3, while under 16s can get in for free.
Background music will be provided over the weekend by the popular Tingley Brass Band.
Co-organiser David Nebard said: “There’s been a terrific response from local businesses to support the event.
“We’re hoping for some decent weather and that local people come along and enjoy themselves.”
