Celebrating our town’s finest entrepreneurial minds, the Morley Business Awards is back this Friday night.
This year’s ceremony will be the sixth event celebrating independent traders and companies in Morley and will feature a keynote speech from special guest Jamie Jones-Buchanan, of Leeds Rhinos fame.
A record 240 guests will fill the conference suite at the Village Hotel on Capitol Boulevard in Tingley, which is also one of the ceremony’s sponsors.
Organiser Rachael Kennedy said: “Everyone’s really excited about what will be our biggest and best Morley Business Awards yet.
“All the plans are taking shape and it promises to be a great evening. There’s plenty of friendly competition between all those nominated for the award.”
The list of award winners remains a closely guarded secret until the evening itself, with the exception of one which has already been announced.
Barmaid turned entrepreneur Cassy Cullen has enjoyed unmitigated success since setting up her mobile travel agency, CC Travel just two years ago.
She will be handed the Business Personality of the Year award for her achievements.
Mrs Kennedy indicated that this year’s event is likely to be moved to a Saturday night from next year, in a change from its traditional end of week slot.
The alteration is intended to give nominees a chance to let their hair down and have a drink after the event without having to worry about getting up to open their shops and stalls in the morning.!
