British Transport Police officers have released CCTV images of a women they want to speak to after a bag was stolen after it was left unattended at Leeds railway station.

The incident happened on Tuesday March 3 at around 5.15pm in the Sainsbury’s store in the concourse area.

The 18-year-old victim had been using the self service checkouts in the store and left leaving a gift bag which contained chocolates, passport holders, toiletries and a number of other items, on the checkout. Realising her mistake she returned a few minutes later to discover it had been taken.

Upon reviewing CCTV in the store a woman was seen to pick up the bag and leave the station, making no attempt to hand it in to store or station staff.

PC Jeremy Webster said: “We have undertaken checks at the lost property office but the bag hasn’t been handed in.

“We are now issuing an image of a woman who we believe may have information about the incident which will assist our enquiries. If you are the woman pictured or know her please contact us.”
