British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for help to identify a man they believe may have information about an assault that took place outside Leeds railway station.
The incident took place at around 3.20am on Sunday November 30 in the drop off point at the rear of the station near Wetherspoons public house.
A woman was assaulted by another female in front of two off duty BTP officers. The suspect was arrested and as the officers were walking her into the station a man who had been with her attempted to pull her free, pushing and shoving the arresting officers in the process. They managed to secure the woman again and the man ran off.
PC Chris McGlynn said, “We are now releasing CCTV of a man who we would like to speak to in connection with the incident. It vital that we trace him, so I’d urge anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.
“We would also like to trace the victim who was assaulted who left while officers were dealing with the suspect. We want to make sure that she is ok. If that is you, please contact us so we can give you some support.”
The arrested woman, aged 20, has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
