A kind-hearted and thoughtful 11-year-old will set up shop this weekend to raise money for charity.
Katie Hopton, from Morley and a pupil at Woodkirk Academy, took it upon herself to raise money for Cancer Research UK in the town centre this Saturday. Proud dad Andy said: “She asked me if she could sell some of her things to raise money for charity, so we booked her a table at the Trading Post, on Queen Street in Morley, inside the furniture centre. “She has chosen Cancer Research UK and sent for a fund raising pack from them to help her. Katie’s stall will be open from 10am until 1.30pm and it is hoped everyone will pop along on the day to help her raise as much money as possible. Andy said: “She will be helped by her Grandma Kath, who also does voluntary work for charity.”
