Children’s football team Tingley Athletic FC has closed a new sponsorship deal with local estate agents Onwards and Upwards, after an appeal for help with the club’s costs.
The new funding will enable Athletic to invest in new training kit and equipment for its U8 side, which plays its games on Sundays.
Manager and coach of the U8 side, Richard Wagstaff, said: “We are always looking for local support from businesses.
“Every penny we receive is invested into the club and we are very grateful to Onwards and Upwards for their generosity.
“Without local businesses helping and supporting us we would struggle.”
The new deal adds to the club’s existing business partners, which include Morley firm Vacuum and Pressure and Tingley pub The New Scarborough.
Onwards and Upwards owner Paul Dunnigan said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring yet another local football team and we are proud to have our name associated with Tingley Athletic. I played for this team when I was at school so it means a lot to be able to support them.”
This week also marks a significant development for the estate agents, as they move premises to Milton House on Queen Street. A launch event open to the public will take place at the new office this Friday from 10am.
Co-owner Janine Dunnigan said: “This move to the high street is really important for us. We have all sorts planned on the day, from cake to afternoon tea and street entertainment. We would like to invite local people to come along, visit us and join in our celebrations.”
Tingley Athletic is keen to recruit new players of all ages and experience for its junior sides and adult teams. To enquire for further information please contact manager Richard Wagstaff at email@example.com
