Family and friends of a man who has been missing in Belgium for seven days are desperately appealing for information as to his whereabouts.
Matthew Webb, a former pupil of Woodkirk High School, has not been seen since he left a cafe in the central market square in Bruges at about 3am on Wednesday January 21.
He was wearing a black wool coat, a blue T-shirt with a horizontal red stripe, blue washed jeans and white shoes.
While police in the city investigate his disappearance and issue appeals in the local media, friends and family have been trying to spread the word on Facebook and Twitter.
The 30-year-old is understood to have been on a business trip in Bruges and had been heading for his hotel after a night out in the city when he went missing.
A spokesman for the Foreign Office said: “We can confirm that Matthew Webb was reported missing in Belgium on January 21. We are in touch with local authorities and stand ready to provide consulate assistance.”
