The chance for local women to get into the swing of learning golf is on offer at Howley Hall Golf Club this weekend.
Howley Hall, on Scotchman Lane, was the first golf club in Yorkshire to be awarded the new GolfMark and Sport England’s ClubMark award from England Golf.
A key part of receiving the accreditation is a commitment to introducing golf to the local community, and the club will also be opening its facilities to disabled people in the area on August 1.
The first introductory session for ladies have been taking place this month.
Rebecca West and Ryan Rastall, who are part of the coaching team at Howley Hall, will host the gatherings and cover the basics of the golf swing before moving on to chipping and putting.
Equipment is provided and athletic style footwear is recommended to be worn.
“It’s light hearted and fun and free of charge and our goal is to make sure everyone has a really good time,” said Rebecca.
“For those who want to take it to the next step we can advise on some of the trial membership options and tuition packages available.”
The next session is on Sunday, July 19 between 1pm and 3pm, when coffee, tea and cake will also be served.
Places are limited. To reserve a spot call Rebecca West on 07778 045969.
