If you’re stumped for something to do this weekend then why not take the whole family along to this year’s Wicket Fest?
The town’s biggest outdoor live music festival and charity fundraiser will take place this Bank Holiday Sunday August 30 with Morley Cricket Club once again providing the venue for a free afternoon of entertainment.
Families are welcome to the event which will include arts and craft stalls, fairground attractions and refreshments.
There will be 15 bands and live acts taking to the stage including Tionne Pringle, Fairway View, Dirty Vinyl, Cinnabar, The Department, Orchid, Big Mouth and Bar Tat Quintet who will all be performing on Morley’s biggest beer garden at Scatcherd Lane.
The weekend will be especially busy with the Crowther Cup Final being played the following day.
Morley Cricket Club secretary Simon Barraclough said: “Morley have made big strides this year on and off the field so a successfulWicket Festand Crowther Cup Final will set us up for the long winter ahead.
“We need everybody to make an effort by helping over that weekend in some shape of form either by standing on the gate, selling raffle tickets, jumping behind the bar at busy times, lending a hand in the kitchen, doing a stint on the barbecue, becoming a parking attendant or even just going round and collecting the rubbish up.”
All the fun at Wicket Fest 2015 kicks off at 1pm.
