Community groups across the district could get hundreds of pounds of funding from Morley Town Council.
The town council’s Community Development Committee is offering grants of up to £750 to clubs and volunteer groups.
The grants cover the costs of specific items or can be used to pay a number of other fees.
Coun Simon Kimberley, chairman of the town council’s Community Development Committee, said: “The Community Development Committee is keen to make all local organisations aware that community grants are available.
“Each application will be judged on its merits and we ask that two representatives, one of whom is the treasurer, attend a committee meeting to put forward its cause.
“Decisions are normally immediate and funds paid over to the organisation without delay.”
Costs that the grants can be used to pay for include equipment that makes the group work more effectively, publicity materials, the training of group members in financial management and new group start ups and development.
Groups can also apply for funding towards organising costs of public meetings, conferences, open days, community galas and festivals.
The grants are open to any groups or clubs operating within the town council’s area, including Woodkirk and Churwell.
Application packs and guidance notes can be found on the town council’s website.
