June has arrived bringing a celebration on three counts - Midsummer’s Day, Father’s Day and, of course, Gildersome Scarecrow Festival!
The traditional annual festival, organised by Gildersome Parish Council, will be held on June 21 from 10am-6pm .
There will be nearly 80 scarecows on the trail around the village, a puppeteer to entertain the children and music from Gawthorpe Brass Band and Gildersome Primary School.
Gildersome Brownies will be Maypole dancing on the village green and Morley Bluebell Majorettes will also perform a dancing display.
Brighouse and Halifax Model Steam Railway will be providing rides along the Green.
Trail brochures are £1 and will be available for sale on the day from either Gildersome Meeting Hall or St Peter’s Church.
