There were some real superheroes in the town centre on Friday - but it was cash they were chasing, not criminals.

Batman and Robin were joined by Supergirl, Catwoman and Danger Mouse at Onwards and Upwards estate agents as they raised money for Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids charity.

The team all dressed as superheroes for the day and took turns to row the rowing machine, supplied by gym Joe G’s fitness centre before parading up and down Queen Street selling cupcakes, kindly donated by local cake maker, Board to Tiers.

Janine and Paul Dunnigan, who own Onwards and Upwards, said: “We were delighted to be able to raise so much awareness and much needed funds for vulnerable children across Leeds.

“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of passers-by in Morley and to our supporters who generously donated online. Thank you!”

Donations have topped £400 so far.

Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids aims to support disabled, disadvantaged and vulnerable children living across our area.

Their Superhero Day has raised over £29,000 to date, with more still being counted.
