A positive attitude turned Asquith Primary School’s footballers into winners after years of finishing in the bottom half of their league. The team were crowned Morley Primary Schools League champions for the first time thanks to a ‘can do’ approach and the dedication of coaches Mr Holt and Mr Mackay and captain Joel Mathie. They will celebrate with a trip to Nando’s.
“We are incredibly proud. It’s easy to become disillusioned and give up but our attitude has shone through and the teamwork and commitment, with support from parents, has finally led to success,” said headteacher Gillian Austerfield.
