Lifesaving schoolgirl Cody Hartley will be taking to the road again to raise vital funds for her community.

Cody will be teaming up with Tingley Athletic on Friday as members take on a trek to Bridlington - and back again - with Cody joining them for the last leg of 25-30 miles.

Setting off on Friday and returning on Monday, the sports team are trying to raise enough money to buy two defibrillators for their club.

Cody said: “They have all got a Just Giving page and although I haven’t, I have left a sponsorship form at both Thorpe and Blackgates primary schools.

“My dad, Hughie, will be walking with me on the Monday and all the money raised will go towards getting the club the defibrillators they need. Every penny helps and I really want to get as many defibrillators as possible in as many schools and public places as possible.

“Even if I don’t raise a lot of money, I will be raising a lot of awareness, which is just as important.

“Both me and my dad have been walking on weekends for practice and I really appreciate that my dad is giving up his bank holiday to do the walk with me.”
