British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man officers want to speak to after a woman was abused whilst travelling on a train between Outwood and Leeds.

The incident happened between 6.25am and 6.35am on Wednesday February 12 as the train approached Leeds station. A 43-year old woman from Wakefield was travelling on the service when a man took objection to the amount of space she was taking up on the seat.

The woman ignored him, who then knocked her hat off and verbally abused her. When the train arrived at York he refused to let the woman off and kept her on the train until it was empty, despite numerous pleas from her to move. The man eventually let her off the train but then continued to abuse and swear at her as she walked along the platform.
