Two friends who held a fundraising day at Gildersome Sports Club last month ran the London Marathon at the weekend.

Steve Johnson, from Drighlington and Richard Baker, of Morley, raised £3,000 at the fun day in March which helped them reach their target of £5,000 to run in aid of St John Ambulance.
Richard, 41, said: “The first six miles were brilliant because of the spectators encouragement and the shouting of your name.
“I kept running the whole time, and I crossed the finish line in 3hrs 53mins, and was chuffed with the sub four hours I aimed for.”
