Another plan to build a McDonald’s restaurant at the site of the former White Bear pub in Tingley has been submitted to Leeds City Council’s planning committee.
The plan has been rejected by planning chiefs four times before, but McDonald’s seem adamant to get their proposal passed.
Their plan is to demolish the existing building and build a two-storey restaurant with drive-thru, provide car parking and landscape the area.
The proposal, which can be seen by visiting the planning application section at www.leeds.gov.uk, reference number 15/05904/FU, has already started to receive objection comments.
One reads: There is no need for another fast food restaurant in our community when there is so many other McDonald’s so near.
“The anti social behaviour it will attract will cause many a disturbance for the very close neighbouring houses. The litter and vermin will also increase. Tingley round about is a very busy round about which has lots of accidents on it already. The lights and entrances/exits of the McDonald’s will only make this worse. It is totally the wrong message of a healthy lifestyle so close to a secondary school
“I do not understand how this is still going on after so many objections over the last few years!”
