Visitors to a Morley quarrying firm can now catch a glimpse of a 1930s plant vehicle. Mone Brothers director Phil Mone has lovingly restored the vintage caterpillar-tracked machine and displayed it at the company’s Albert Road site. The CAT D 22 vehicle was discovered in a barn near Ferrybridge and had mice living in the engine radiator and a bird’s nest in the tracks. It would originally have been used to pull farm machinery.
“With Mone Brothers now in its 51st year we felt it would be good idea to reflect our heritage with this installation and it’s certainly got visitors talking,” said Phil’s son Phil Jnr.
