IF you fancy having a real firefighting hero in your home or office next year then these fundraising lads could be just what you’re after.

A group of firefighters from Morley Fire Station are stripping off for West Yorkshire Fire service’s 2013 calendar with every penny raised going to a number of charities.

But true to form, the Morley station decided to go that little bit further in their fundraising efforts and hold a soapy event on Saturday.

Drivers passing by the station on Corporation Street were able to pull in and for a donation have their car specially washed.

Armed with powerful hoses and soaped-up sponges, firefighters, Jodie Allen, Paul Imperial, Alex Mclean, Luke Cannon, Aron Green and Ryan Mayple were kept busy with cars stopping by to be cleaned.

All money raised from the car wash event will be donated to the charity calendar fundraiser, which hopes to raise essential funds for charities, such as The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Firefighters Charity, which helps members of the fire and rescue service who put their own lives on the line every day to help others.

The calendar will be launched later this year.
