A boom in new housing projects in Morley, Leeds and Wakefield has been welcomed by Andrea Jenkyns MP.
Completions are at a seven-year high thanks to schemes such as Help to Buy and fast-tracking applications. 3,280 new units were erected in 2015. Ms Jenkyns said: “With 90 per cent of people aspiring to own a home of their own this government is helping to make this dream a reality by building the homes our country needs.
“These figures show that builders are confident in investing and building homes. It’s welcome that the country is building again with housing starts nearly double the low point of 2009.”
