Councillors have met with advice service chiefs to discuss changes to the Citizens Advice Bureau in Morley.
The proposal, which could be implemented early next year, could see Morley CAB provide advice in a different way.
Coun Robert Finnigan said “We had concerns about the changes in advice services in Morley.
“Welfare Reform and the financial challenges many working people across Morley are facing means we need a sustainable and accessible advice serve that will serve the needs of the community. Following the meeting I am pleased that the new way the CAB will operate in Morley will mean more Morley residents getting advice and support.”
He added: “Local people need an accessible advice service more than ever before.
“We are bringing together partnerships locally to provide a high quality and
sustainable advice service which will provide the help and support they need in these difficult times.”
