The Morley economy has been given a significant investment boost with the transformation of the McDonald’s restaurant in the White Rose Shopping Centre.

The revamp will create 50 new roles and the restaurant will become one of the largest in the local area.

The investment is part of an extensive ongoing UK-wide refurbishment programme, which has seen the vast majority of McDonald’s transformed over the past seven years.

Craig Dilnot, McDonald’s Operations Manager said: “At McDonald’s, we understand the importance of investing in the community, and it’s great to be able to bring an extra boost to the local economy.

“It’s not just about providing a fresh, new environment though, we also believe in investing in people and I am delighted to be able to create around 50 new jobs as a result of the re-design.

“With excellent training programmes and career opportunities, including the apprenticeship scheme, on offer to all of McDonald’s employees, we hope the roles will appeal to a broad spectrum of people across the local area.”

The redesigned restaurant features McDonald’s signature style with a bright, modern interior and exterior design. Providing an enhanced customer experience, the new look restaurants offer a new 229 seating dining area, free WiFi and a transformed menu.

In addition, the restaurant makeover includes the introduction of a range of energy efficient measures including low energy hand dryers, LED spotlights and energy-saving external signage.

New and existing McDonald’s employees will also benefit from improved kitchen facilities and a new ‘crew room’ with comfortable seating, a television and a computer. Crew can use the area to study for nationally recognised qualifications in maths or English part of training opportunities offered to employees to help develop transferable skills and qualifications.
