Morley youngsters have explored the fascinating world of ancient Middle Eastern history thanks to an interactive exhibition.
More than 500 pupils visited mobile displays in their primary schools which told the story of the development of Christianity in the ancient Middle East.
Actors in period costume depicted life during the times of the New Testament and children were given worksheets with the chance to win prizes. The exhibition was organised by Morley Community Church, whose members toured Fountain, Asquith, Seven Hills, Victoria and Birstall primaries. Coun Judith Elliott visited the exhibition at Queenswood Primary School.
“The Bible is still the world’s best seller and is full of gripping and exciting stories. The exhibition had made many of the stories that are not normally read come alive with fresh meaning. It’s a novel idea and an excellent way of helping children understand key Bible stories and the ancient world of the Middle East.”
