Elderly residents at a care home were bowled over when schoolchildren recited poetry during a visit.
Pupils from Queenswood School visited Knowle Manor as part of their Friendship Group partnership. The children took part in a bowling game, which they managed to win. They carried out a poetry performance which they had learned at school. Headteacher Julie Tanner said: “The highlight of the afternoon was an impromptu performance of poems rom the children, much to the delight of the old folk. We have had the Friendship Group for several years now and it is a delight to see the children and elderly residents enjoying each other’s company.”
