Raising cash for Ethiopia mission

Morley Community Church has launched a project to raise money to build a mission in Ethiopia.

The Harvest of Talents project involves volunteers from the congregation being given £10 by the church treasurer.

Using their imagination and entrepreneurial drive they have devised a whole range of ideas to make their money make more.

Ideas so far include free range eggs, collecting scrap metal, harvesting apples to bake pies and selling cooking oil.

The group hopes to hit their target of £500 by the time of the harvest festival in October.

The £500 raised will be forwarded to the International Miners Mission in Ethiopia. The sum will build a miners’ mission in a rural part of Ethiopia where mining communities are expanding.
