Churwell’s Service of Remembrance, to mark those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country will take place on Sunday November 8 at 9.30am, in Churwell Garden of Remembrance.
The service will be attended by the Mayor of Morley and will include the laying of wreaths.
Refreshments will be available afterwards in the community centre.
A Service of Commemoration will be held at 11am in the community centre, led by Rev Kathleen Davis from St Andrew’s Church.
Names of local people who died while serving their country in WW1 and WW2 will be read out during the service.
In Morley, a parade will leave the town hall on Sunday at 10.30am to Scatcherd Park War Memorial, where a service will take place at 11am.
The town’s annual Festival of Remembrance will take place this Friday November 6 at 7.30pm where Morley Academy Choir and Morley Operatic Society will be performing.
