Over 100 children from the South Leeds and Morley Scout District enjoyed a Harry Potter themed cub camp taking part in lots of fun activities.

Supported by over 20 adults, the cubs, aged from eight to 11, camped overnight at the Phoenix Scout Campsite in the town and took part in a range of activities including archery, climbing, crafts and zip wire, all with a Harry Potter theme.

They even built a maze for cubs to seek out treasures hidden within and released over 100 Hedwig Owl balloons in a helium ballon race.

Reptile rangers attended and displayed exotic animals from snakes to spiders. The leaders are already thinking up new ideas for next years camp, but for now are keeping it a secret!

South Leeds and Morley Scout District have over 600 young people and over 90 adult volunteers registered and are always seeking more adult help so that they can open up more opportunities for young people. Phoenix Scout Campsite in Nepshaw Lane offers outdoor challenges to young people as well as being a centre and meeting venue for adult volunteer training opportunities.
