Junior footballers in Tingley were given a special treat at the end of their training school when they met former Leeds United captain Dominic Matteo.
Mr Matteo, who was at Leeds from 2000 to 2004, was part of the United team who reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2001.
Children aged five to 11 met the former Whites defender at the end of the Striker Tots football school in Tingley last week.
The former Scotland international also played for Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City.
Kirsty Hill, who runs the club with her partner Richard Graham, said: “It was brilliant to get Dominic down to meet the kids. They were really excited all the way through the morning session until he came in the afternoon.
“In fact the parents were probably more excited than the children.
There are a lot of the dads who are Leeds fans or Liverpool fans and I kept hearing them say how excited they are.
They were asking for photographs with him more than the children were.
“It was really nice to get him there for the children though.
“It was like a little reward for their efforts throughout the week.”
Striker Tots runs soccer schools throughout the school holidays and it also runs Premier Kids Football Academy sessions during school term time.
It holds sessions for two to four-year-olds as well as for five to 11-year-olds.
