Smiling man sought after theft at Leeds railway station

British Transport Police officers are appealling for help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft of a phone.

Police Sgt Keith Warner from British Transport Police said: “A group of friends in fancy dress were in the lost property office at Leeds railway station on Saturday March 29 at 9.30pm.

“They were having their photo taken by a member of staff from the office and whilst they were posing for photos one of the group left his phone, a new black iPhone 5S, on the counter and it was subsequently stolen.

“After reviewing CCTV we believe the mystery man who posed with the group and was captured in this photo, will be may be able to assist our investigation into this crime.

“If you recognise him or know his current whereabouts please contact us.”
