Team become Warriors for hospice

A Morley decorating contractors is entering a five-man team in the Yorkshire Warrior Challenge to help raise funds for Wakefield Hospice.

Family-run Greens Decorating Contractor’s, which is based on South Street, is entering their energetic five-man team in the challenge, which will take place on April 18.

Described as “the ultimate assault course challenge,” Yorkshire Warrior is a grueling 10 mile timed obstacle course based in the Yorkshire countryside.

The team, comprising Ben Hardcastle, Mark Higgins, Robbie McEwan, Danny Smith and Anthony Walsworth, will need to overcome hills, bogs, fire, ice baths, barbed wire, electric fences and underground tunnels plus lots of other tough challenges if they are to reach the end of the course.

Robbie said “We are raising money for Wakefield Hospice, a wonderful local charity that provides specialist support for patients facing a terminal illness.

“Through personal experience, the charity is very close to our company and we are really looking forward to this opportunity to provide a worthy donation to help support the work of this remarkable organisation”.

The team is hoping to raise at least £1,000 in sponsorship from the challenge and have set up a Just Giving page to help them reach their fundraising target.
