Morley Cricket Club’s annual Wicketfest celebration will be back again over the Bank Holiday Weekend on Sunday, August 30.
The event is Morley’s biggest outdoor music festival and 15 live bands and acts have already been confirmed and will perform at the club’s premises on Scatcherd Lane. The festival will then be followed by the Crowther Cup Final the day after. Club officials are urging anyone who can lend a hand over the weekend to get in touch. Secretary Simon Barraclough said: “Morley have made big strides this year on and off the field so a successful Wicketfesr and Crowther Cup Final will set us up for the long winter ahead.
“We need everybody to make an effort by helping over that weekend in some shape of form by standing on the gate, selling raffle tickets, jumping behind the bar at busy times, lending a hand in the kitchen, doing a stint on the barbecue, becoming a parking attendant or even going round and collecting the rubbish up.”
The weekend’s celebrations are being publicised on Facebook and Twitter with the hashtags #WICKETFEST2015and#CrowtherCupFinal2015.
