Gunshots were fired towards a home in Batley in a “targeted attack”.

Police were called to Grange Road after reports of shots being fired in the direction of the house at around 2.38am today (Wednesday).

A black Ford Focus was recovered close by on North King Street, which is being examined by forensic experts.

Det Insp Mark Colman, from Kirklees CID, said: “I believe this to have been a targeted attack and would appeal to anyone who was in the area during the early hours of this morning and may have seen or heard anything to come forward.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have seen the black Ford Focus in the immediate area around Grange Road, or leaving the area to speak to police. Enquiries are ongoing.”

No-one is known to have been injured in the incident.

Officers were stood outside the home on Grange Road, which is close to Batley town centre, and a cordon was in place on the street at 11.45am.
