The annual Festival of Remembrance takes place at Morley Town Hall on Friday.
Now in its tenth year, the festival takes place on Friday, November 11 at 7.30pm.
And hundreds of people are expected to attend.
Terry Grayshon, is the County Chairman for The Soldier’s Sailors Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help in West Yorkshire.
He said: “This event provides an act of remembrance for the area.
“We will remember those who fell in conflict and in particular the Leeds Pals and the Battle of the Somme.
“We will have representatives from the army and air force present and special monologues will be read out.
“There will be a silence to remember the fallen and the contribution that they gave to us.
“This remembrance event been going 10 years now and it has always been well-received by the community.”
There is no admission charge for the event.
The festival is just one of a number of events in the area.
Churwell War Memorial at Elland Road, Churwell will host a Remembrance service at 9.30am on Sunday, November 13. .
Also on Sunday, at 10.30am, a Remembrance parade will take place in Morley.
The parade will form along Queen Street, at 10.30 am and march to the War Memorial in Scatcherd Park for the Service of Remembrance at 10.50 am.
After the service, the civic party will take the salute from the town hall steps during the returning parade.
Refreshments will be served in the Alexandra Hall, in Morley Town Hall.
Also on Sunday at 2.30pm, there will be a service of Remembrance at the Tingley Air Crash site at Tingley crossroads.
