A Woodkirk church has secured investment to turn an old area into a community space and finally have toilets fitted.

The Rev Amanda Barraclough, from St Mary’s Church, said: “It’s the first time the church has had toilets in its 1,000 year history.
“The space will be offered to people who want to find a small area for their group but aren’t after a great big space.”
She said that the eight-year project to gather funds included £50,000 from the Wren Landfill project and £14,500 from the Caird Peckfield landfill company.
