The expected loan move of out of favour striker Noel Hunt to Ipswich Town has been confirmed today by Leeds United.

Irish international Hunt has joined United’s Championship rivals on an emergency loan deal until January 3, but as part of the agreement will not be able to play against Leeds when they visit Ipswich’s Portman Road ground on Saturday, December 6.

Hunt, who arrived at Leeds from Reading last summer, has struggled to make an impact and failed to score in a competitive first team game.

He has made just two appearances so far this season and has been out of the first team squad since August.

Hunt fared little better in his first season at United when making 20 appearances after struggling with injury problems.

He is now linking up with older brother Stephen at Ipswich.
