Drighlington scored a try in each half to defeat Queens 12-0 in the BARLA Yorkshire Cup final.

In front of a big crowd at the South Leeds Stadium, Drighlington were in control from the start thanks to a stubborn defence.

Drighlington scored the only points of the first half when Luke Pennington crossed the whitewash and Michael Sanderson added the conversion on 23 minutes.

Frustration got the better of Queens at the end of the first half and they had three players sin-binned.

Tempers continued to flare up on the resumption, Queens’ Carl Luke and Drig’s Andy Brearley both sent off following a brawl, but the lead was increased when Lee Mulhern touched-down and Sanderson converted.
